“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him,
he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
abide: v. to stay, abide, remain
Suffering is a normal part of the Christian life. All of us will experience it. Chances
are good that you have experienced it in the past, or maybe you’re going
through a really difficult time right now. And in the midst of the tumultuous storms
and driving rains of life, Jesus calls us to abide in Him. The redeem Conference
will help us in a unique way to fix our eyes on Christ, wherever we find ourselves
in this season. Mary Leibert will take us deep into the text of John 15 and show us
from God’s word how Christ is the All-Sufficient One who supplies all we need to
walk in obedience today.
Mary-Alice Deboer, Ashley Schreiner, Lisa Vargus, and K.C. Pettijohn will lead a
variety of workshops that go deeper and broader to help answer some hard
questions that we all have wrestled with:
• What is God’s purpose in my suffering? Is there even a reason for it? How can
my suffering be redeemed? How can I endure?
• So many women around me seem like they’re in a separate spiritual category-
what If I never measure up? How can God use my boring, ordinary life for his
• I wish I knew how to connect with other women. Where do I fit and how can I
help reach out to other women in my church or community?
• I know we are all called to abide in the Vine, but what does the Bible say that
should look like for me as a woman? What are some of the struggles that I will
likely face as I work to abide in Christ and how can I be ready to combat them
in the strength God provides?
